We arrive at the project at last!

Cassie's turn to report ....

And so we set-forth into the unknown as what I can only describe as a voyage of mass discovery. Our mounds of toast arrived in due course, and every sub-section of egg imaginable emerged from the kitchen. Delicious.

Most woke up to the sound of rain drumming and we were anything but impressed. A wise man once said (Mr Knight) 'to experience true Sri Lanka a monsoon is necessary' and this is I believe will be our first of many.

4 litres of water a day can only lead to one thing. A squat toilet. We stopped a good 3/4 times, however the gem museum was a great place to go, to stretch our legs and get cultural. We didn't buy anything but Shopie now knows where to send her fiancée.

Bleary eyed after 9 hours, we were expecting Mrs Clarke and Mrs Speed to rustle up something good. We were to have no doubts as we were proudly presented with this little fellow, in the entrance to Ude Walawe National Park. The views were gorgeous and the coach went almost quiet.

Two words. Cheshire cats.

They waited with baited breath and so did we.

Cuter than we we could let ourselves imagine, the children presented us with gifts of leaves. I could have cried.

We wait for our ginger tea with local biscuits as we grew accustomed to the inland heat and beautiful surroundings.

'The Crew'

The thoughts behind the previous innocent smiles quiver as we realised the extents of our endeavors.

Hello to Mum and Dad, I'm having and AWESOME time. See you soon.

Over and out. Cassie.

  1. Hope you all enjoyed the ginger tea and biscuits. The kids look adorable. Olympic day went well just a little bit of rain, the wheel chair basketball was the most popular activity. The olympic torch is coming through tomorrow, so something to look forward to. Hope things continue to go well. Mr Pool

  2. Cassie,

Forgetting someone you didn't even say goodbye too? I am appalled ;) sounds like your having a good time so don't come home too soon, terrential rain here as always, not great weather for a driving test, but oh we'll, I will hopefully have passed by the time you get back!
